Marching left something to be desired. This seemed more marching band than Drum Corps. Drum Corps seems to be more military style, less frills, down-to-business, very clean and precise. I saw bass drums, but no quints. They made some weird sounds. I'm no expert on this stuff, just calling it how I see it. My mom got into Drum Corps as a teenager and aged out at 21 (in the 70s). Since we were little kids, we've gotten to watch competitions and of course, we watch and record the DCI competitions that are on TV. I'm telling ya, these Swiss dudes, knickers and all, were pretty good, but I have seen better! Mad props to them for putting on an interesting show. In the beginning, I don't think they were listening to each other. You could hear the "BUZZ" as they played out of sync. You could see it in the hand movement as well. They did clean up the piece as the show progressed. Towards the end they were starting to hit it. As for Years to learn, don't think so.. When I played, we learned stuff like that in two months.. I did like the part where they broke out into groups of 3.. Pretty creative... Backsticking and crossovers.. Nothing new.. Been done for 20 plus years... Hats of to the though..
