Politics, philosophy, science and other stuff were no longer less than religion. You may call it the beginning of the collaps of moral values in the West. As Christians are open-minded and tolerant against others, especially against non-believers, on one side, Islam is on the other side very agressive against especially non-believers. But not in a way Christianity does. Christians were an inferior group in Islamic countries.
