The governments have no way of controlling it, there’s no way to effectively tax it, its that simple. Alcohol is FAR worse for society with related problems as the stats for alcohol related heath issues are through the roof and in most countries the treatment tab is picked up by the tax payer though public healthcare. . Other issue obviously is the fact its easy for politicians to play the subliminally play the "class" card on that one too. Weed is stereotypically a lower class drug, right next to crack and crystal meth, its such crap what excuses so called elected governments use for their actions.
