WRONG. It's a G17 with a full-auto conversion kit. Which is completely legal if you have a ClassIII permit in the US.

Well, the G18 has a twist-switch on the left side of the slide, the rear of the slide is the std. end-plate. With this G17 conversion, the end-plate is replaced with a metal unit incorporating the actual switch in the shape of a rearward extension and a horizontale left-right slide-type switch. It's clearly visible in the video.

Whatever movies (or games) are trying you to believe, Desert Eagles are SPORTS pistols, nothing more. If you get attacked and shoot with that weapon, you can shoot once, but not twice. The backfire of that gun is just too much. I'd rather fill an attacker with 5 bullets (misplaced or not), than with 1 (misplaced) heavy cal. bullet. @ The Devil: Yeah, the G18 in Socom was good against one guy, but it emptied so quickly you were dead after you used it. I think it's the same in real life. Spraying bullets is a lot of fun, but a couple of well aimed shots can be more effective. I was rather careless with guns in my younger years. (When I gave parties @ home, I'd sometimes bring in the double barrel and we'd shoot beer cans in the garden. Okay, that was fun actually... and careless... but fun nonetheless.

"Relentless": talking out of the wrong orifice again, are you? look at the pics of the G18 on the Glock site, and then look at the video again, stopping it at 9 seconds exactly. now compare the rear ends of the slides in profile. I happen to have a Glock 17 right in front of me as I type, so yes, I do have a faint idea of what I'm talking about. It could of course be another model of the mid-frame family, the web-site this video originated from stated that their demonstrator was a 17 in 9mm Luger, make that 9x19. The vid has been around for at least four years now. They used to sell a lot of these vconversionkits to Krautland, where you can legally own, but can not install it :?

Desert Eagles are good. You can win wars by throwing them, when (not if) they malfunction yet again, 'cos they 're as inaccurate as a very inaccurate thing. While you're waiting for a DE to cycle once (and controlling recoil & huge moving mass) I'm half-way through my clip of 9s with the Glock. Poser guns for guys with no willies ;) .357s with 125gr JHP is all you need if you're talking self-defense, though big-capacity Austrian clips have something to them, as well. Of course, there is a lot of more accurate hardware out there, SIG210 being right at the top, but nothing beats them ugly Austrian chunks of steel and plastic when it comes to value for money :D

lol, a DE .50 ... awesome in movies, inpractical in use... its definitly a powerful handgun, but it doesn't serve any purpose... if u want a gun with great stopping power, get a rifle (better accuracy)... if u want a handgun that can be concealed and used for self protection, get a kel-tec p32, for the women out there, this small gun will fit inside most purses and it has hardly any recoil so u don't need to train on it too much before u can use it effectively... now, I definitly agree that the DE are very impressive and will command power if u show it to your friends... but its just not very practical in use ^^
