Really? Well when Ford tried to make the ultimate supercar recently they came out with the Ford GT, which was rushed through development and has the same engine as a Lightning pickup. On the other hand, Koenigsegg (a small Swedish company with a fraction of the resources of Ford) build the engines for their new cars from scratch, and the resultant CCX looks awesome and can do about 245mph... If America can make the worlds best car, they would have done it my now, but they cant, so they wont. I cant see anything beating the Bugatti Veyron for a long time, and when it happens you can be damn sure it wont be an American car that does it. Even the Japanese are years ahead of you...
