Most of the time though fights happen solely out of the heat of battle. It's a very physical game. Five minute penalty for fighting. Gotta love it!! Grendel 2 years ago If memory serves, that was a game between Buffalo and Quebec. Clint Malarchuk was the goalie for Buffalo. Somebody cut his jugular. Fortunately for him there was a doctor in the stands who quickly recognized what had happened, jumped on the ice and saved Malarchuk's life. That was fucking nasty to see.
