Just struck me that they were treating it like a computer game. If your intel is off, this can be a real problem... like when you hit a BBC mobile unit with a missile and kill the interpreter and wound the reporter. Major PR disaster if they have the camera running at the time (which they did) Air superiority is fine in war, but using it to take out ground targets without checking your intel... that's risky. The video was showcasing the weapons platform, and nowhere did it assert that the soldiers in the Apache were heroic. They are men doing a job, and this is their tool. The primary goal in the developement of military technology is to be able to kill the other guy before he kill you. Ideally, he won't even know you're there. For the record, I'm dead set against U.S. involvement in Iraq. I never thought there was any legitimate reason to go there. But my beef is with the current administration, not the soldiers. Attakk 3 years ago Apaches and Longbows are good helicopters, but this vid doesn't show all they pack. Some 10 years ago, I played 'Janes AH 64-D Longbow' (heli-combat simulation) and if you know Janes, you know it's just full with info and details. Well, anyway, whatever. That 'game' had some information vids and those really show what these beasts are capable of. They are anti-ground helicopters mainly and no other helicopter beats them in this (Longbow more effictively than an Apache). And I don't think they take alot of heat in Iraq now, since AK's and stones don't penetrate their hull ;) (and shooting it with an RPG isn't all sweet candy either).
